Below are some planned CAA sponsored or co-sponsored events for the Second half of 2024.

July - August 31 - Photo Contest

Get your cameras and cell phones ready.  In keeping with our commitment to encourage and support all art forms in our community, the Cromwell Arts Alliance is holding its third annual photography contest. 

Event guidelines:

- It’s open to all ages

- Photos must be taken in any of the Cromwell parks.  

- Prizes of $50 will be awarded to the winning photographers in each of these four categories:

- Wildlife/Nature

- Water

- Weather

- Summer Activities

- Photographers may enter up to three photos

The entry deadline is August 31st.  All submissions must include the entry form and waiver and can be submitted one of the following ways:

1. Printed (Size 8 x 10) and mailed to “CAA”, c/o Rosemary Matus, 4 Blackhaw Dr. Cromwell, CT. Please mark packages “Fragile” and include cardboard to protect your prints. 

2. Email to cromwellartsalliance@gmail.com. 

Note: Prints are preferred because all entries will be displayed: Location TBD. 

Winners will be announced by September 14th.

 

September 28 - Networking Event

​We will host an Artists & Creatives meet up on September 28 at Cromwell Belden Public Library. the event will take place from 11am to 1 pm. All hobbyists, amateur & professional creatives and artist are welcome.

Fall Poetry Event - Event is Postponed (New date will be posted soon)

Due to a scheduling conflict we have to postpone the event scheduled for Saturday Oct 5th. We are working with the event coordinator and the event location to schedule another date. We will notify you in the next couple weeks of the rescheduled date.

 

In keeping with our commitment to encourage and support local artists, CAA in partnership with Cromwell Belden Library will hold a Poetry reading event on October 5, 2024. We are looking to spotlight local artists and their written work. If you are a writer or aspiring writer thirteen years or older, we are looking for you to participate.

Event guidelines:

• Participants must be thirteen or older

• Poem must be original work and family friendly

• Submit your work and registration/release form by September 25, 2024, to cromwellartsalliance@gmail.com with “2024 Poetry” in the subject line.

• All submissions will be reviewed and subject to approval

• Poems should be less than 5 minutes long

• Event will take place Saturday October 5, 2024, at 11:00 am

Note: copies of the registration/release form will also be available at Cromwell Belden Library.

 

The event will consist of the artists reading their submissions followed by a “talk back” where we can ask questions of the artists. There will be light refreshments served.
